Sati Pasala Mindfulness Programmes at Miami Clothing (Pvt) Ltd

Sati Pasala mindfulness programmes were held at Miami Clothing Factories in Pitigala and Dickwella on 22nd and 23rd June 2019. The programmes were participated by 1300 employees and 500 employees’ parents in both the factories. There were 2 sessions of 2hours for employees and 2 sessions of 3 hours for employees’ patents. The programmes were organised by Mr. Indrajith Kumarasiri, Director, Miami Clothing (pvt) Ltd and conducted by Mr. Amaranth Jayakody. The participants were guided to practice several mindful activities including Mindful Walking, Mindful Sitting and Sound of Silence.

New Hopewell & Wikiliya tea factories have organized monthly Sheela Samadanaya with Sati Pasala for two factories. All the workers and staff members of the two factories have been participating “Sati Pasala” program each month on the day after Poya day. The program was held on 17th June 2019 and about 290 workers with staff members participated.

Sati Pasala mindfulness programme for sewing class students on their very first day to the course was organized by New Hopewell and Wikiliya Tea Factories on 12th March 2019. The programme was conducted by Ven. Kurunegala Sobhitha Thero and it was run from 10.30am to 11.30am. About 25 students participated in the event. Key mindful activities including Mindful Walking, Mindful Listening and Mindful Sitting was conducted along with several mindful games to introduce mindfulness to these students. The venerable thero guided the students on how to do everyday tasks mindfully. The Sewing class teacher also participated in the program & she also very much impressed. On the first day of their class, they were a great honor to have such a mindfulness programme. It is very much helpful for their class as well as day to day life.

New Hopewell & Wikiliya tea factories have organized monthly Sheela Samadanaya with Sati Pasala on 20th February 2019. All the workers and staff members of the two factories have been participating “Sati Pasala” programme in each month on the day after poya day. For this program, 390 workers and staff members participated. There are many Sati Pasala programmes have already done for these two factories. So that majority of them are already following mindfulness for their day to day life as well as this monthly programme would be a great help to them.  The programmes were conducted by Ven. Sati Pasala at Dartry Valley Tea Factory – 18th February 2019

Sati Pasala programme was held at Dartry Valley Tea Factory on 18th February 2019 from 8.00am to 10.00 am. More than 200 managers, staff and workers participated in this programme. Being in the present moment was introduced through mindful sitting, mindful walking and mindful games.

The programme was conducted by Ven. Athurugiriye Dhammawihari Thero under the direct guidance of the managing director- Mr. Ranjana Gamini Walpola and director Thanura Panapitiy. Now peoples’ behavior in this factory totally different from before, they stay in a very calm & quiet way and they are not in tension situation. They do their jobs very happily by being in the present moment.

Sati Pasala programme was held at Dartry Valley Tea Factory on 14th September 2018 from 8.30am to 11.30 am. More than 220 Managers, staff and workers participated at this program.
The programme was conducted by Ven. Athurugiriye Dhammawihari Thero under the direct guidance of the Managing Director- Mr. Ranjana Gamini Walpola. All workers and staff members of the factory have been following mindfulness programme by spending 15 minutes at the morning session every day.
This programme will definitely have an impact supportive to the usual morning sessions held every day at the factory.
