Sati Pasala Programme for Staff Members of Department of National Language

Sati Pasala programme was organized for staff members of Department of National Language on 04th April 2019. The programme was conducted by Dr. Dhammika Ariyananda as per the special request made by Prof Dayarohana Athukorala. The participants were guided to practise some mindful activities and a presentation on the Scientific Background Behind Mindfulness Practice was delivered. At the end, participants highly appreciated the programme conducted and several participants commented on the new knowledge and the experience they gathered.

Sati Pasala Mindfulness Programme at Ragama Hospital

Sati Pasala mindfulness programme was held at the Colombo North Teaching Hospital Ragama on 7th of March 2019. The programme was organized by the Health Education Unit of the hospital and conducted by Dr. Dhammika Ariyananda. About 50 in Charge nurses and head sisters from all wards of the Ragama Hospital participated.
Dr. Dhammika Ariyananda’s presentation about the brain and its functions laid the perfect platform to introduce mindfulness to the participants. Several mindful games were conducted and main mindful exercises such as mindful sitting, mindful listening and mindful eating was conducted as well.

Sati Pasala mindfulness programme was held at the Batuambe Temple, Nugawela on 4th of March 2019. The programme was attended by about 150 area residents and organized by the youth club of the village. Ven. Sati Pasala Programme for Balangoda Three-Wheeler Drivers Association

New Hopewell & Wikiliya Tea Factories have organized a Sathi Pasala mindfulness programme at Sri Sudharshana Maha Viharaya on 12th March 2019 for Balangoda Three-Wheeler Drivers Association. More than 48 members of the Three-Wheeler Association participated. It ran from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The programme was conducted by Ven. Kurunegala Sobhitha Thero. Being in the present moment was introduced through mindful sitting, mindful walking, mindful eating and mindful listing.

The three-wheeler drivers need mindfulness to do their jobs in safety. They can avoid most of the accidents in the road with practicing the mindfulness. Because the main reason for the accidents is carelessness. By being in the present moment that risk is reduced. Along with continues practice, this can be eliminated. This group had not participated in such kind of program before. Therefore, this was a wonderful experience for them. Some of them shared their experiences regarding “Sathiya” with others.

New Hopewell & Wikiliya Tea Factories have organized a Sathi Pasala mindfulness programme at Sri Sudharshana Maha Viharaya on 13th March 2019 for School Bus Drivers Association, Balangoda. More than 65 members of the School Bus Drivers Association participated. It ran from 9.00 am to 11.00 am. The programme was conducted by Ven. Kurunegala Sobhitha Thero. Participants were guided to practice several mindful activities including mindful walking, mindful sitting, mindful eating, mindful listening and mindful games as well. This group had not participated in such kind of programme before. Therefore, this was a wonderful experience for them.

Sati Pasala Programme for Sewing Class Students – 12th March 2019

Sati Pasala mindfulness programme for sewing class students on their very first day to the course was organized by New Hopewell and Wikiliya Tea Factories on 12th March 2019. The programme was conducted by Ven. Kurunegala Sobhitha Thero and it was run from 10.30am to 11.30am. About 25 students participated in the event. Key mindful activities including Mindful Walking, Mindful Listening and Mindful Sitting was conducted along with several mindful games to introduce mindfulness to these students. The venerable thero guided the students on how to do everyday tasks mindfully. The Sewing class teacher also participated in the program & she also very much impressed. On the first day of their class, they were a great honor to have such a mindfulness programme. It is very much helpful for their class as well as day to day life.
