Sati Pasala Programme at Gymnasium, Balangoda – 11th March 2019

Sati Pasala programme was held at Gymnasium at Balangoda on 11th March 2019 for 45 members of the Gymnasium from 9.00am to 11.00am. They enthusiastically participated in the programme. The purpose of the people who come to the gymnasium as their life habit, to relax their minds and to maintain their healthy life. Therefore, Sati Pasala mindfulness programme is very helpful for them to reach their purpose.

Ven. Kurunegala Sobhitha Thero conducted the programme in a very productive manner. Being in the present moment was introduced through mindful sitting, mindful walking and mindful eating. They shared their experiences with others at the end of the programme. According to their experiences, they said that their minds got relaxed. As this is a different target group the message about mindfulness can be passed to their families very effectively.

Sati Pasala Introduction Programme at Poojagoda Village, Lankathilake

Sati Pasala introduction programme was organized at Poojagoda Village in Lankathilake on 26th of February 2019. The programme was conducted by most Ven. Rajasinghegama Thilakadhaamma Thero and attended by about 70 area residents. Participants were guided to practice several mindful activities including mindful walking, mindful sitting, mindful eating, mindful listening and mindful games as well.

Sati Pasala programme was held at Nalandawa Tuition centre on 24th February 2019 for students. The programme ran from 8.00 am to 11.30 am. Whether Nalandawa is a private education centre, the owner of the centre Mr. Naleen Gonakumbura and the Science teacher, Mr. Nalaka S. Athukorala wants to practice Mindfulness for their students as they identified the thousands of benefits of it. Therefore, they have arranged this Sati Pasala programme for their students.

Sati Pasala Mindfulness Programme at Zonal Education Office, Hanguranketha

Sati Pasala mindfulness programme was held at the Hanguranketha Zonal Education Office on 25th of February 2019. The programme was conducted by most Ven. Rajasinghegama Thilakadhamma Thero and about 50 staff members participated. Key mindful activities including Mindful Sitting, Mindful Walking Mindful Listening and Mindful Eating was practiced along with several mindful games. The participants showed immense interest in the programme and pledged to give their best to strengthen the Sati Pasala operations in Hanguranketha Zone.

Sati Pasala Programme at St. Joseph’s Home for Elders – 24th February 2019

New Hopewell & Wikiliya Team has organized a Sati Pasala programme at St. Joseph’s Home for Elders on 24th February 2019. The programme was conducted by Ven. Kurunegala Sobhitha Thero. In elders’ homes loneliness, depression, and anxiety are considered risk factors for residents. The objective of this programme is to help the helpless poor elders by relaxing their minds. Mindfulness may help elders to find peace within themselves with daily practice. Also, mindfulness for the elders is an encouraging intervention. There are lots of benefits of Sati Pasala programmes such as mind relaxation, reduce their pains, be healthy, may improve their sleep, sharpens and focuses the mind for elders. It was one of the very sensitive programmes.

Monthly Sheela Samadanaya with Sati Pasala Programme at New Hopewell Tea Factory – 20th February 2019

New Hopewell & Wikiliya tea factories have organized monthly Sheela Samadanaya with Sati Pasala on 20th February 2019. All the workers and staff members of the two factories have been participating “Sati Pasala” programme in each month on the day after poya day. For this program, 390 workers and staff members participated. There are many Sati Pasala programmes have already done for these two factories. So that majority of them are already following mindfulness for their day to day life as well as this monthly programme would be a great help to them.  The programmes were conducted by Ven. Kurunegala Sobhitha Thero under the direct guidance of the Managing Director – Mr. Ranjana Gamini Walpola.

Sati Pasala Mindfulness Programme for Pragathi Society, Mawanella

Sati Pasala programme was conducted to Pragathi Society in Mawanella on 27th of January 2019. Pragathi Society is comprised of several families from the Dewaragampola area in Mawanella. About 60 people participated in the programme which was conducted by most Ven. Rajasinghgama Thilakadhamma Thero. Key mindful activities like Mindful Sitting, Mindful Walking, Mindful Listening and Mindful Eating were conducted along with several mindful listening games. Almost all the participants expressed positive views at the end of the programme and pledged to make mindfulness a key part in their lives. The programme was coordinated by the Mawanella District Sati Pasala coordinator Mr. Wasundara.
