The gale force winds and torrential downpour of the previous four days did not hamper the arrangements made for the first Interfaith, mindfulness group meditation for the public, arranged by the Sati Pasala Foundation. After many days of dark & cloudy skies Saturday morning dawned with brilliant blue skies and beautiful white clouds. The chilly breeze at the Independence Square greeted the participants, who began trickling in from about 6.00am.
The Sati Pasala Foundation has organized the first mindfulness program for professionals of the Health Sector. Doctors, nurses, family health physicians, psychiatrists & officials of key health sector institutions will participate at this exciting work shop scheduled for the 2nd December.
A special Resource Person invitee (Venerable Paññāvamsa Thero, Founder of the Mindkraft Foundation) will share experiences on mindfulness based stress reduction & mindfulness based cognitive interventions, and EQ related programs.
Prof Diyanath Samarasinghe (Founder, Health Promotion Foundation) will share experiences in dealing with victims of harmful habits and destructive addictions, and on how to be in control over ones self.
There will be special sessions by Sati Pasala team members who will demonstrate practicing mindfulness using colorful examples. And Venerable Dhammajiva will lead guided mindfulness sitting and walking.
