Most Ven. U Dhammajiva Maha Thero conducted a Special Sati Pasala session in Sydney on 16th of December 2017 themed “Practice with Maha Thero”.
For Sati Pasala Sydney this was the first public event since its initiation in August 2017. It was also the first time that Most Ven. Dhammajiva Thero participated in a session and hence a very special occasion for the children. There were 55 children and an equal number of adults.

Mindfulness was introduced to the staff of the Sri Lanka Parliament for the first time on 30th January 2018. More than 400 participants attended two mindfulness induction sessions. The latter consisted of sharing a basic understanding on mindfulness, instructions on mindful sitting and mindful walking, calming and composing the mind using the magic-mind-jar, instructions on mindful eating, and how to listen to the sound of silence using the singing bowl. A lively discussion ensued.

On the invitation of the Secretary General of Parliament, the Sati Pasala Mindfulness Facilitators will conduct mindfulness programs for the staff of the Parliament on the 30th January. About 300 staff members will be exposed to mindfulness in two batches. Practical sessions will be conducted on mindful walking, mindful sitting, mindful eating and mindful listening. They will also be shown the magic mind jar and simple exercises will be conducted on how to allow the mind to settle slowly, mindfully and silently. Experiences from other countries on mindfulness in Parliament will be shared with participants.
