Mindfulness Program at Holy Family Convent, Kaluthara

The Sati Pasala mindfulness program was held on the 03rd January 2018 at Holy Family Convent, Kaluthara. The participants consisted of more than 300 students of year 11 and 12 and about 50 teachers.  The Principal of the convent, Rev. Sister Priyanthi Jayathunga was very enthusiastic about the program and she actively participated in the proceedings. She remained with the students for the entire duration of the training session as did the Deputy Principal, Rev. Sister Charitha Thandalge and The Vice Principal, Mrs. Prasadini Perera.

Sati Pasala Introduction Programme at Gadaladeniya M V Gadaladeniya, Pilimatalawa

The above program was held on Thursday 16th November at Main Hall of the college from 9.00 am to 11.15 am.  Participants were about 115 students of year 6,7,8,9 and 10 together with 7 teachers. The Principal of the college Mrs. R M D K Samaratunga was very supportive for the activity and provided all facilities for the event, though she was unable to take part in the event.  In fact, Mrs Kandewatta, one of the teachers and a MF trainer of Kandy District has done some ground work to introduce Sati concept to the teachers and children of the school.  The coordinating teachers Mrs V Kandewatta, Mrs V S K Mahalekam, Mrs A M K Abhayaratne and Mr D Kasthuriarachchi extended their fullest corporation to our work.

A convoluted mind vs the mind as a blooming flower

A Sati Pasala special program was conducted at the Gampaha Thakshila Vidyalaya on November 8th. Of special interest were the pictorial and poetic feedback recorded from the students. The image of a confused and tangled mind, drawn as multiple squiggles in convoluted circles was striking in contrast to the sketch of a blooming flower – depicting the mind of the same artist student at the end of the Sati Pasala program.

Introduction of Sati Pasala to a few schools in Balangoda

This program was organized by the Wikiliya & Hopewell Tea factories in collaboration with the Zonal Education office in Balangoda.
There were six schools selected for the first phase with around 1290 participants, including students, prefects, and members of the Parent Teacher Association-(PTS), old boys-(OB) and school teachers.

Sati Pasala awareness program conducted at SUDARMA VIDYALAYA, Galle

As the first step of creating awareness that Sati Pasala is a secular program, we were delighted to have had the opportunity to conduct an awareness program to Sudarma Vidayalaya, Galle on the 31st October 2017. This is a Sinhala Muslim mixed provincial school. Both parents & teachers from these two communities were invited to attend this program.
