Sati Pasala or How to Practice Mindfulness

Devi Balika students introduced to Sati Pasala

On the invitation of Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo 08, Sati Pasala facilitators conducted mindfulness programs for grades 10 to 12 on the 7th September 2017 and grades 7 to 9 on the 8th September 2017.
During the course of these two days, about 1750 students were introduced to the practice of mindfulness. After a brief introduction to mindfulness the children had an opportunity of participating in a session of guided mindful walking and sitting. The facilitators also discussed how to practice mindfulness during daily activities.
The program was very well received by both the students & teachers. Sati Pasala would like to extend their gratitude to the Principal Mrs. W.P.D.K. Samarasinghe and the teachers for their unerring support and enthusiasm.
On conclusion of each session, the students shared their experiences, both written and verbal with the Sati Pasala facilitators.

I’m a student of Devi Balika Vidyalaya. Today, I’m participating to your program. I think I felt it as you wish.First of all, thank you to join with our school. We had a seminar about history in the morning session.So when we were coming into the main hall, we are a little bit of tiredness; bored and we thought like ‘ oh! Another boring program’. But you guys prove that we were wrong in few minutes from program starts. I have heard about meditation programs….but never tried….. Today, I felt it by myself because of your program. Such a relaxing feeling, never had a that kind of feeling. I will definitely continue with this. It’ll help me to go to my targets clearly.
