The first Global Mindfulness Summit 2018 (February 23-25) was completed with complete success, with a packed auditorium and lobby at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo. An unprecedented interest in mindfulness and its applications, was shown by large numbers of people from all sections of society. The uniqueness of this special event was its non-sectarian, non-religious, apolitical nature. It’s was delightful to watch those from all hues and faiths mingle with each other and to watch them sit in meditation with each other. The event was symbolic of cross-cultural, inter-ethnic, multi-religious harmony and coexistence.
The Inauguration was graced by HE the President of Sri Lanka and several senior Ministers of the government. The Minister of Education pledged his Ministry’s support for Sati Pasala with great sincerity. The Sati Pasala Story was shown as a video.
The technical sessions had experts and specialists in multiple fields make excellent presentations. The Panel Discussions were invigorating and very informative.
Several items based on mindfulness were performed by the Sati Pasala Children.
Mindful Walking was guided by Sati Pasala children.
The three days concluded with a group Mindfulness Meditation in the lawn of the SLFI and was led by spiritual dignitaries from all religions.
